I would would like the system reform for future generations. Instead of donating money to the CA$, I say give money and donate money to the Black Ribbon Gold Hear Campaign or the Protecting Canadian Children Group. 

I am glad I had this camera and was had the strength to attend and pay my respect for a soldier who died way to young at the hands of the CA$.

I have personally have chosen to express my own grief and loss at what the group homes and CAS has done to my family and I, and also other families around the globe, by wearing a black ribbon with a gold heart. Karen Plumridge mailed me a ribbon and I recieved it today in the mail today.

Why wear a black ribbon with a gold heart? To SUPPORT and promote public awareness of the families hurting from the wrongful actions of the Child Protection Agencies

I know that some Class Action Members may have difficulty reading, so I am asking for the help from family members, caregivers and friends of former crown wards in getting information to them. Please show this information to people who are impacted by this lawsuit or to their caregivers. Thank you. 

On August 27, 2014 My social worker faxed this letter to Ontario Crown Ward Class Action lawyer in Toronto Ontario, Canada. 


The suit claims the province of ontario failed to take all necessary steps to protect the rights of Crown wards to apply for compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board or to file personal injury claims for children who were abused prior to or while in the care of the Province.

On March 11, 2013 my blood aunt and I met in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. At this visit, my aunt told me that my mom was addicted to drugs and was addicted to partying and she would often dump me onto my grandmother. I was told that my grandmother would often babysit me. I was told that my mom would promise to pay my grandmother money to babysit me but would break that promise and would not give my grandmother money. I was told that my grandmother got tired of always babysitting me so should decide to call the Children’s Aid Society. I was told that my grandmother called Children's Aid and put my own blood sister and I into foster care for her "own good". I was told that my grandmother called the Children’s Aid and put me in foster care for “my own good”. Foster care is not the solution. It was meant to be but money got it all messed up. Which is the lesser of two evils? None….instead of being a cowardly rat, you should have done the dirty work yourself. "It takes a village to raise a child" So easy to point the finger and be a cheese muff then to be a stand up sorta person and do something about it yourself. Fuckin wanna be heros. I know what it’s like to be abandoned and live in group homes and to not feel like you are part of a real family. I did not ask to be here. I suffer the consequences because of other people’s actions. I am now part of a new Class Action Lawsuit against the Province of Ontario.

I want my story known to explain why I may seem a bit different, a person without many close friends, who may be a little broken. I also wants to shed light so that other kids aren't double- neglected, first by parents who forsake them for drugs and then by the system that was supposed to protect them.

On July 15, 2014, I approached Barbara Hall about Ontario's Children's Aid Society.Barbara Hall was appointed Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission on November 28, 2005, after more than 30 years as a community worker, lawyer and municipal politician.

I am very proud of this women. I had a chance to meet with her on May 7, 2014.

My name is Jesse Larabee and I am a member of a class action lawsuit. I would like the compensation to be used exclusively on therapy and education. This survivor said too that she would use the money on therapy.

I am appalled that not ALL comments are supporting this survivor in the news.

On March 24, 2014, I attended a news confrence at Queens Park in downtown Toronto, Ontario.

I attended this event with my good solidarity friend.Thank you Lee Bolton for inviting me. Thanks to Holly Papassay and Toni Grann for their solidarity. I also noticed that NDP MPP  Cheri DiNovo was at this VERY IMPORTANT media confrence. NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo supports Ombudsman Oversight of the CAS in Ontario.

On August 5, 2011, I attended this rally in Barrie, Ontario. Pat never interviewed me and I did not want him to interview me. Nobody in that town seemed to care what Mr. Carter was saying about the CAS. I attended the rally because I was under the impression that Karen Louma owned a group home in Barrie, Ontario. I was hoping that the rally would help fix the system. I have a question for Mr. Carter. What do you think is worse? CAS or the group homes in Barrie, Ontario?



PS: Thanks for speaking the truth in this video. You said that we were going to start suing the CAS more and at the time I was not confident that there really was going to be a class action lawsuit in Ontario. Wow I AM  glad I was wrong. I guess I just beleived that CAS was not ready for a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT.

I am NOW currently a member of that very new class action lawsuit in Ontario.

I am happy the lawyers are representing us. I just wish they did it sooner. But better now then later or worse never right? Thanks.

Teen dies while in foster hell

 

 

 

This 15 year old killed herself.  If you drive someone to insanity and they kill themselves that makes you a murderer. Will the government and the media protect the killer or will they publish the name of the killer and the 15 year old girl? I would like to know the name of the 15 year old girl.

Who am I? My name is Larabee and I am a former foster child of the CAS in Ontario. CAS was involved in my life for 15 years.

The CAS and the individual workers were dirty and corrupt when I was 15 years old. I was 15 years old and was depressed and felt lonely and was missing my blood aunt and I told a male worker that I wanted to kill myself. Do you want to know the workers response?

The worker laughed at me and told me not to kill myself because it would cause him to do more paper work. That IS appalling. I even had workers who would ENCOURAGE me to kill myself and would mock us children and make fun of the fact that we wanted to see our family and friends.

He cared more about the fact he would actually need to work and less of the fact that he was supposed to protect me and help me.

Nobody cared about me. The CAS did not care that I was being abused and neglected in the group homes and foster homes or kids jail.

If they did care, they would have helped me file a claim with the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board. They would have allowed me to live with my blood aunt.


CAS abused and neglected me when I was 15 years old. I'm alive today because I fought them at every change I had. It would sometimes take 5 staff to just retrain me.

And remember, I was only 15 years old being physically restrained by grown adults.

I would  punch and kick and even bit and even spit at staff.

I even and ran for my life and decided to sleep on the streets.

I know that if I had not been able to fight and escape..... I would have taken my own life too.
 
But I lucked out.... as you can see not everyone is so lucky....
